Columbia Housing
Cayce Housing, CHAD and SCAHI
Established in 1934, the Housing Authority of the City of Columbia (Columbia Housing) is an independent public corporation, funded primarily by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Columbia Housing is governed by a seven-member Board of Commissioners appointed by the Mayor of the City of Columbia. It is managed by a CEO/Executive Director. Columbia Housing is not a city Agency.
Columbia Housing manages the Housing Authority of the City of Cayce (Cayce Housing) and oversees two affiliate entities: Columbia Housing Authority Development (CHAD) and the South Carolina Affordable Housing Initiative (SCAHI). Under these entities, affordable housing options are provided to residents in the City of Columbia, Richland County and the City of Cayce in Lexington County, South Carolina.
