Columbia Housing Announces New Chief Executive Officer

Columbia Housing is pleased to announce the selection of Jessica Anderson Preston as its new Chief Executive Officer. Mrs. Preston brings 25 years of experience, having successfully led housing authorities in Rockville, Maryland and Largo, Maryland. Most recently, Mrs. Preston served as CEO of the Housing Authority of Prince George's County.
Mrs. Preston was selected from a slate of 5 finalists after a nationwide search. The Chief Executive Officer position was vacated, following the resignation of Yvonda Bean earlier this year.
James Chatfield, chair of Columbia Housing's Board of Commissioners, says the board is pleased with its selection. "Mrs. Preston brings 25 years of progressive experience to Columbia Housing. Her people-focused approach to leadership along with her housing development experience are qualities this agency needs, as we continue to address the redevelopment of our housing portfolio. The Board of Commissioners looks forward to partnering with Mrs. Preston to write the next chapter in Columbia Housing's rich 91-year history. Chatfield continued, "we also would like to thank Mr. Barry Hall for his service to Columbia Housing and wish him all the best in his future endeavors as he transitions to his next chapter."
Mrs. Preston will begin the new role on November 24, 2025.
As the largest single provider of affordable housing in South Carolina, Columbia Housing plays a pivotal role in the community, managing an annual budget of $50 million and serving over 16,000 individuals across more than 20 housing communities.
