CH Taking Applications for 2026 Summer Youth Employment Program

Columbia, SC - Columbia Housing is excited to announce that applications are now open for the 2026 Summer Youth Employment Program. The program, which will run throughout the month of July, offers a unique opportunity for rising 9th through 12th graders in Columbia Housing to gain valuable work experience and develop important life skills.
The Summer Youth Employment Program is designed to empower local youth by providing hands-on experience in a variety of key departments, including Housing Choice Voucher, Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, Executive Administration, Maintenance, and Property Management. Participants will work closely with professionals in each department, gaining exposure to new career paths, building their resumes, and developing essential skills like communication, problem-solving, and teamwork.

"This initiative is not only a chance for participants to learn about different career fields, but also an opportunity to foster personal growth, community engagement, and responsibility."
In addition to their departmental assignments, participants will engage in activities that promote community involvement and personal development. By the end of the program, students will have learned skills that will serve them throughout their academic careers and beyond.

All selected participants will receive a stipend for their work throughout the month of July.
