General Wait List Information

The status of applications submitted from September 30, 2020 to October 2, 2020 will be available after October 31, 2020.  All applications that were successfully completed during the open application period will be placed in a computer-generated lottery system.  Applicants with numbers assigned between 1 - 2000 will be placed on the list for 3, 4, and 5 bedroom public housing units will be notified by October 31, 2020.  There will not be any status updates available before this date.


The status of applications submitted from June 23, 2020 to June 26, 2020 will be available after July 31, 2020.  All applications that were successfully completed during the open application period will be placed in a computer-generated lottery system.  Applicants with numbers assigned between 1 - 500 will be placed on the list for Moderate Rehabilation units at Four Seasons Apartments and will be notified by July 31, 2020.  There will not be any status updates available before this date.


The status of applications submitted from December 18, 2019 to December 20, 2019 will be available after January 31, 2020.  All applications that were successfully completed during the open application period will be placed in a computer-generated lottery system.  Applicants with numbers assigned between 1 and 3,000 will be placed on the waiting list and will be notified by January 31, 2020.  There will not be any status updates available before this date.


  • Columbia Housing will review applications for completion and initial eligibility requirements. 
  • Applicants should maintain the email address used to submit their application.
  • Columbia Housing does not provide emergency housing.
  • Columbia Housing cannot anticipate when an applicant's name will be selected from the waiting list.
  • Columbia Housing will not provide additional information on waiting list status other than the information reflected on this website.
  • Applicants will be notified by U.S. Postal Service standard mail and/or email of any scheduled appointments.
  • Changes will only be accepted in writing and addressed to Columbia Housing's Customer Service Department at 1917 Harden Street Columbia, SC 29204.
  • Columbia Housing is not responsible for any misdirected mail or email due to:
    • an applicant's failure to report a change of address to Columbia Housing; or
    • address incorrectly listed on the application or update forms; or
    • difficulties receiving mail from the specific address listed on the application or update form. (i.e., broken mail box, Post Office delivery, person at the mailing address did not give mail to applicant, etc.
  • Columbia Housing will not forward any undelivered mail.
